アイアン家具や什器、ロートアイアンの日用品の作品を制作、またインテリアからエクステリアまで様々な分野のオーダーを手掛けてきました。デザインから素材の選定や制作工程、仕上げまですべてオハッド自ら一貫して手掛け、細部まで情熱を注ぎ丹念に制作しています。

「EMPOWERMENT」をコンセプトに、素材やデザインが持つ本来の力や美しさを最大限に引き出し、また世代を超える耐久性はもちろん機能性や強度、安定などの実用性をもちながら、空間に力と豊かさをもたらし、人生に新たなインスピレーションやビジョンを与える作品を送り出しています。

イスラエルのハイファ出身、美術講師/学芸員で現在はアートキュレーターの母と、鉄工所を経営する金属加工職人の父の元に生まれた。母の影響でアートの世界に触れ芸術の要素を学ぶ一方、物心付く前から父の鉄工場で遊び、鉄や機械と工具とともに育ち、また工場の周囲には家具製作、車・バイク、ボート修理といった個人経営の工場が集まっていて、訪ねては仕事を眺め、教わり技術を身につけた。

学校には馴染むことがなく高校を中退し、父の仕事を手伝いながら空いた時間に家具の制作を始め、様々な材質を組みわせながら以来制作を重ね、自分のスタイルを確立した。父の仕事に10年以上働き金属加工の技術を得ながらテクニオン工科大学で二級建築士を取得、在学中から5年間製図を教えていました。

素材や構造、作る意識をもって常に世の中を見てきた自分に、作るということは自然なコト。難しい課題をどう解決するか、技術的ソリューションを見つけることが大好きです。

2007年インドで妻アキコと出会い、ヒマラヤ山脈で登山をし、まだ車両道路も携帯電話もないシンプルで自然と繋がった暮らしの中に、本当の豊かさを体験した経験がサステナブルな生き方の軸となり、また制作へも影響している。インド滞在後に自然と調和した暮らしを求め日本に移住し、情熱を注ぎ丹念に制作した手仕事の作品で人の暮らしを豊かにすることをゴールに2015年日本で事業をスタート。現在は、工房で作ることや、日々の暮らしにある自然が大好きな４人の可愛い子供たちを育てながら、日々制作しています。

Born in 1983 in Haifa, Israel, to a mother who is a journalist and art lecturer, currently an art curator, and a father who is a metal fabricator and runs his independent business. I was exposed to the art world and learned about the elements of art through my mother while growing up "playing" with metal, tools and experiencing various machines at my father's workshop since early childhood. The factory is located in the center of a very rich metal industry, also surrounded by other workshops such as carpenters, furniture makers, car/ motorcycle garages, boat repair yard, masonry factory, glass pane manufacturers, and more, I often went visiting the neighbors to watch and lend a hand, learning from the old generation skilled craftsman and acquiring the skills.

I didn't find my place in school, later dropping out of high school at the age of 17, I started working with my father daily, creating furniture in my free time, experimenting with combining various materials and establishing my own style. While working in my father's business for over a decade, I acquired more metal fabrication skills and later obtained a second-class architect degree at the Technion institute of technology where I taught drafting for five years.

Creating things comes naturally to me, I've always viewed the world with an awareness of materials, structures and production techniques. I love figuring out how to solve problems and finding technical solutions.

My wife Akiko and I met in 2007 while traveling in India, hiking in the Himalayas, experiencing true richness in simple mountain life, connected to nature with no roads or cell phones yet. This experience became the core of sustainable living affecting manufacturing as well. Later we moved to Japan in search of harmonious life with nature, opening our business in 2015 with the goal of enriching people's lives with unique handmade items, created with passion and care for details.Today we are parenting our four beautiful children who love the experience of creating in the workshop and the excitement of nature being a part of our daily life.

【サステイナビリティ】作品を作った余りの材は、さらに小さな小物の材料になり、さらに小片はワークショップや子供の創作の材料になり、カンナや研磨の木くずはコンポストに入れ畑の肥料となり、最後は薪ストーブや五右衛門風呂で余りなく利用しています。壊れた機械は分解して直し、壊れたら捨てるのではなく、まずは直すことを4人の子供たちや、リペアイベントを通して伝えています。今は小さな規模ですができるだけ地球に優しく居れるよう、私たちのできる範囲で、その時その時に応じ良いバランスを探し、季節や気候、自然のリズムで制作しています。

【フォイヤワークの由来】Feuer（フォイヤ）は、家族全員を失い唯一生き残った祖父の一人娘である母の旧姓で、オハッドだけが家族で受け継いだミドルネームです。またドイツ語で「火」 という意味で、鍛冶の仕事を示し、作品作りへ注ぐ「火」のような情熱とエネルギーを表します。

【ロゴ】長く生き続けるよう無限「∞」を形どり、スパイラルは木の年輪と鍛造した鉄のスクロール（巻き）の形であり、エネルギーや循環を象徴し、森から送り出したことを思い出してもらえるよう焼印をしてお届けします。
